What buyers ask us most: why double wall and why borosilicate. Double wall cups are blown as two separate glass layers, then fused at the rim, trapping a still air layer in between. Borosilicate (3.3) glass has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, so it tolerates sudden temperature swings of roughly 120–150 °C without cracking — microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe, lead-free, and noticeably lighter than ordinary glass.
